Get To Know Us

My name is Ann and my husband Jon and I have been breeding only Poms for about 7 years. We love our animals and have gone to great lengths to insure that our breeders are healthy. All of our breeders are vaccinated yearly with DHPP and rabies vac's and remain on Interceptor and Frontline year-round. They have a dental cleaning at least once a year and are fed Nutro Ultra Holistic Dog & Puppy food.

Our female breeders are typically only allowed to breed once per year (or every other heat cycle) to prevent health problems from overbreeding. Our breeders range in size from 4-9 lbs. and usually average 3 pups per litter. When our girls whelp, they do it on my bed in a whelping tub with my assistance. All mothers and puppies are housed in a room in our home with access to a large fenced-in yard.

Females who are not in whelp and males are housed in our climate controlled kennel with separate fencing inside and outside. The dogs have constant access via doggie doors to the inside kennel fencing where they each have a separate crate with separate food bowls and a communal water bowl in each pen. They are crated every night for safety. Their outside fenced runs are extremely spacious and partially graveled. Inside the kennel, we have furniture and a TV where we play with each dog every single day.
The tiled kennel is cleaned regularly and the outside runs are poop-scooped every day, weather permitting. Dogs are groomed on a regular basis including a bath, nail trim and ear cleaning, not to mention weekly brushing. As if they don't entertain one another enough, they are constantly supplied with toys and treats.

When puppies are born, they are weighed on our digital scale and weighed again regularly to insure weight gain. Both mothers and pups are de-wormed concurrently with fenbendazole several times before the pups leave and are given their first DHPP vaccination at 6 weeks. They are eating dry puppy food and drinking water before they go to their new home, and do not leave us until they are around 8 weeks of age. Dr. Lori York & Dr. Carol Springs of Blue Ridge Animal Hospital are our very capable veterinarians who see every one of our Poms.
As a new puppy owner, you are supplied with packets of information on just about everything including housetraining, traveling, nutrition and even introducing the new puppy to other pets. You receive a baggie of the puppy food they have been used to eating, their AKC registration application, their up-to-date health record and a sales contract that states that you may take the puppy to their veterinarian within 3 days of purchase and if there is any birth defect or congenital health problem, we will swap the puppy for a healthy one. Plus you have a standing invitation to call or email with any questions you may have about the little cutie. We can also supply owners with pedigree information if it is requested.

Our puppies sell quickly and have strong black & tan and cream lines as well as the typical orange and red. We occasionally have black, chocolate and parti-colored babies. Sizes and colors vary, of course, but the Pom temperament is always excellent. We do not in-breed and rarely line-breed. Our breeders hail from various parts of the U.S. and Canada. We have shipped puppies out-of-state via Delta's Pet First airline system, but we prefer to hand-deliver the puppies.

If you'd like more information or have any questions, don't hesitate to call or email. Thanks for your interest in our puppies!
